Review: Jointace by Vitabiotics

April is officially my half birthday month! I am half way to turning 30 years old this coming October! I'm determined to push my limits and be in the best shape of my life...

Age seems to be catching up with me somewhat though! I've spent the last 6 months with my knee under investigation. After several doctors appointments and a MRI scan it turned out that I have a cyst in my knee in addition to degeneration due to wear and tear as well as a condition I had when I was younger, chondromalacia patella which seems to still be there!

This made me think about how I look after my joints for sure - I plan on running and cycling a lot this year and don't want to be susceptbible to injury. In stepped Vitabiotics. The Jointace range was just what I needed there and then!

I was sent a box of their Jointace Sport tablets, Jointace patches and some Jointace gel!

It's like my body decided to give up as soon as these landed through my letter box! Day 1 and I pulled a muscle in my neck, laying in bed, chatting on the phone! So the first thing I tried out was the gel. Even the smell was enough to help relieve some of the tension in my neck! It contains essential oils of ginger, eucalyptus, menthol, lavender...and more! Plus glucosamine and chondroitin! I stuffed the gel in my bag and used it throughout the day at work to help keep the muscles as relaxed as possible.

I then used one of the patches during the night. They also contain aromatherapy oils but you can wear for it for 12 hours. So I slept it in, then wore it to work the next morning too! Considering it was in an awkward place, it managed to stay in place for the majority of time!

The tablets were interesting. Thirty came in a box so I assumed that was a months supply. However, the instructions were to take 2 tablets per day which meant the box would last just 2 weeks! I followed the instructions anyhow and all was well. I can't say I saw a tangible difference but general joint stuff wouldn't be noticeable. I feel taking these tablets would be an investment in my joints, but it would also be a financial investment at approx £30 per month. The extra vitamins included are definitely ones that would benefit an active person and my joints could do with all the tender loving care they could get...

What do you use for sore muscles / joints?!

Do you take any joint care supplements?!

  2. I really like Vitabotics - I regularly use the Women's fitness supplement, and it is just really great quality. Joint wise, I am all about fish oils (bonus, good for the brain!) and glucosamine!
