Running & Cycling Accessories | SS ’14

The sun came out a few weeks ago and it seems to be staying for a little while at least…fingers crossed!

It’s a hard toss up between cycling to work and a run commute – usually it comes down to how much time I have and if my training schedule dictates that I need a run. I’ve been ensuring that any kit I buy is multifunctional and can be used whether I choose to run or ride. Either way though, it needs to be light, breathable and keep me safe to get me through sunny days and chilly evenings in low light!

That’s where my accessories come in…

Oakley Commit Sunnies

Why I Love These – Firstly, they are pink!! Anything that is pink is halfway to finding a place in my heart! Most importantly, my vision through them when cycling / running is immaculate! No glare from the sunshine which is especially important when cycling as I’m in amongst traffic. They’re light as a feather too and although the look sporty, not to the point that I feel like a sport nerd!

They also come in a beautiful hard case and have an additional fabric case so will be well protected in my bag if I’m coming back in lower light and don’t need them!

Fancy a pair?! Blackleaf.com stock a maaaahusive range of Oakley sunnies – pick a pair {here}!

lululemon Run From Work Backpack

Why I Love This – Talking of low light, I need not worry when I have this bag on my back! At the end of last year I bought some trainers which are high vis and perfect for the wintry weather. As it’s getting warmer, those shoes are not quite as breathable so I’m switching up my visibility and taking it into my backpack!

It’s light and compact (which can be an issue for me as I’m not a light packer!) but it’s big enough to fit a change of clothes and the other little extras that you will need for your day! I love the cool design going on on the inside too 😉

lululemon Rise & Shine Jacket II

Why I Love This – I love the fact it’s so versatile! It looks more ‘ordinary’ than my previous cycling jacket which just looked all serious! I feel more stylish in this one, yet it’s still very functional! It’s water resistant, warm and even has ventilation zips by the arm pits! I’ve used those numerous times when I start to heat up on my journey!

More Little Things:
*LOVE* running headbands which keep my ears covered and warm
*WOULD LOVE* an armband for my iPhone to allow easy access when using apps to track my workout

What accessories make or break your run commute or city cycle?!
