Sweat etc. September 2014

Hello October. Hello Birthday month! …I’m about to hit 30 years old! 

This was the plan for September: 

September 2014 Goals 

1. Weekly schedule: run 1-2x, crossfit 1x, yoga 1-2x, other 1x 

2. successfully complete London Duathlon

3. pre holiday cleanse: 2 juices per day for ten days 

1. Weekly Schedule: run 1-2x, crossfit 1x, yoga 1-2x, other 1x

Week 1: yoga, run club, run club
Week 2: run club, DUATHLON
Week 3: crossfit, run club, crossfit
Week 4: cycling, 5km run/walk
Week 5: adult gymnastics intro

September didn’t quite go to plan! After getting my bike stolen, and being struck down with some strange flu like illness I’m surprised I got anything done let alone accomplish my biggest goal of the year! Two trips abroad on top of this meant I spent more time away from my usual workout schedule!

2. Successfully complete London Duathlon 

I DID IT!! I am now officially a Duathlete! …10km run, 22km cycle, 5km run…

…that means next time, I have times to beat! Read the full story {here}

3. Pre holiday cleanse – 2 juices per day for 10 days 

I needed this. A lot. Having completed Whole30, I still wasn’t happy with the amount of vegetables I had in my diet. This was a way to get extra veg in quickly! I also felt I’d eaten a little too much junk food post Whole30 and wanted to find some balance again. Juicing isn’t a quick and easy thing though…prepping the veg, juicing it and then cleaning up takes a good 20 minutes! But I got it done! …I’ve eaten more beetroot in these 10 days than in my whole life!

I used 5 recipes from the first Honestly Healthy cookbook over the 10 days. I also picked up the second book on Amazon for £12 so will have some more juice recipes to try!

October is gonna be an interesting month for me with my birthday as I plan on enjoying celebrations to the max! I’m still busy adding new events to my calendar for the end of the year and the start of 2015!
