Sometimes the hardest part of training is just getting yourself there. And when I’m on my period? That feeling can DOUBLE. 😅

But one thing I’m learning is that moving my body usually makes me feel better, even on the days when I really can’t be arsed. And swimming has become one of those things I knooooow I’ll be glad I did once I’m in the water.

It’s made for heavy flow, the print is epic, my swim cap matches and, combined with my @zone3official goggles, I almost look like I know what I’m doing. 😂

Full disclosure: I wasn’t actually on my period when I tested it because it arrived a little too late this month. But I’m VERY glad I have it ready for next time.

Every time I walk onto poolside, I’m reminded that you don’t have to be good at something to enjoy it.

There was a time I’d never dived from the blocks. Butterfly felt impossible. Even swimming lengths without stopping felt like a challenge.

Now I’m slowly collecting little wins. A better dive. A smoother stroke. A drill that finally clicks.

It’s easy to forget that everyone starts somewhere, especially when social media mostly shows the finished product. But I think there’s something really special about sharing the messy middle.

If you’re thinking about trying something new, this is your reminder that it’s never too late to be a beginner. Someone out there might need to see you giving it a go more than they need to see you getting it perfect. 🤍
