One minute it’s lights down, music up, everyone giving it everything on the bike… the next I’m back home trying to refuel, hydrate, hit my steps while working, and get enough sleep to do it all again tomorrow.

If you’re new here, I’m Elle — coach, spin instructor and general enthusiast of workouts that feel a bit like a party.

    After teaching my RIDE class at East of Eden last After teaching my RIDE class at East of Eden last week, I had the most grounding Ayurvedic Yoga Massage session with Eleonora @re_set_pause 

AYM combines deep tissue oil massage with assisted yoga stretches performed on the floor. Each session is tailored to what your body needs in the moment — whether that’s relaxation, energy, soothing or deeper muscle work.

After a week of coaching, training and generally being “on”, it was exactly the reset my nervous system needed 🥰

I recorded the whole session, so I’ll be sharing a little more once I get a chance to edit the footage.

    Training for a marathon taught me something nobody Training for a marathon taught me something nobody puts on the medal photo: you don’t have to love every run. Some are slow, some are awkward, some you spend the first 10 minutes negotiating with yourself. The trick is becoming the kind of person who runs anyway.

This is the part most people try to skip.

Progressive overload training only works if your body gets time to adapt to the stress you’ve applied. Muscle mass doesn’t build during the session. Strength gains don’t magically appear mid-set.

They happen after.

Recovery days.
Deload weeks.
Lower intensity sessions.
Good sleep.
Enough food.

In my strength programming, we build recovery in on purpose. Because without it, you’re not progressing — you’re just accumulating fatigue.

If your watch says Recovery, that’s not a setback. It’s a signal that your nervous system is adapting.

Not every week needs heavier weights.
Not every session needs to feel heroic.

Sometimes the smartest training decision is doing a little bit less… on purpose.

That’s how progressive overload actually works long term.
