Today is the birthday of Lady P Linton, formerly o Today is the birthday of Lady P Linton, formerly of Brentwood 🥰 aka my mum. It’s barely been 4 months without her and the grief milestones are hitting fast and furious. If you need catching up, in March, my mum unexpectedly took sick and 5 weeks later, she was gone. Just 5 days before my wedding. Once we realised she wouldn’t be alive for the wedding, let alone be out of hospital, we brought the wedding to her and held a blessing in the gardens of the hospital (pictured). The audio are the words I shared on our actual wedding day, which like I said, she was woven into the fabric of anyway. I’ll never be able to thank everyone enough - many who shared the day with me and many who couldn’t be there - for holding me with love through the wildest rollercoaster of emotions this entire journey has created. There’s barely a moment that goes by where I don’t think of my mum 🥹 the time between tears had lengthened but stepping into September has changed. It brought anger and sadness, if I’m being honest but as always, it resides next to joy and gratitude. So today I’m celebrating my queen who would’ve been 75yo 🎉🥰 I’ve no doubt she would’ve booked us a short trip to somewhere on her wishlist for later this month / next month (my bday)… maybe York, Amsterdam, or Dublin finally 🤪 where she’d have a list of churches and places she needed to see! Once I get myself dressed and stop crying though we’re gonna head over to Chantilly where we 💯 pc would’ve taken her today anyway. Sending so much love to everyone living with loss 🤍
Swim Serpentine half mile: DONE 🏊🏾‍♀️ The plan wa Swim Serpentine half mile: DONE 🏊🏾‍♀️ The plan was to get in, take my time acclimatising to the cold, keep moving and finish. And that’s exactly what I did. I’d say I got it done with 90% breaststroke, 5% backstroke, 5% front crawl and a LOT of yapping 😝 It was the coldest water I’ve ever swum in and probably the longest distance I’ve ever swum too. The half mile should be around 800m, but my GPS clocked me at just over 1,000m and the map looks pretty accurate 👀 But you know what, I honestly loved every minute of it 🥰 Also very glad I booked a hotel through @joinoutfit for the night before, which made getting to the start this morning so much easier (hit me up for a referral link 👌🏾) Shout out to everyone I saw today, and sorry to those I missed with our early start and quick dash back to check out. New bike, first little upgrade 🔧 I’ve never tried New bike, first little upgrade 🔧 I’ve never tried Fidlock bottles before, but I really liked the idea of keeping things a little more low profile on my new @livcyclinguk Devote, without traditional bottle cages. I’ve installed two of the Muc-Off x Fidlock Twist bottle mounts, which use a magnetic-mechanical system to snap the bottles into place and twist them off when you need them. Installation was super simple, and I’m really happy with how clean they look on the bike. Now to actually get them out on the gravel and see how I get on with them.
