It’s probably been a while (if ever?!) since I’ve done a “day in the life of” post so I figured it’d be fun to do one again. No one day is ever really the same for me really, but each day usually has some element that stays the same like a class to teach.
I chose Thursday 24th August, cos it was the day after I thought up the idea and quite a busy day to be fair so at least I’d have something (kinda) interesting to share with you! I’ve put together a little video which you can watch below and / or there’s some text to go with and even explain a little more detail about what I’m up to!

0500 my alarm goes off. I know the clock actually says a different time but that’s because my Lumi Bodyclock always seems to lose time and ends up being behind. I did contact them about this but they wanted me to post it to them (at my own expense) to have it fixed. I figured I already spent the money buying the damn thing so it should work and I shouldn’t have to pay again to cover the costs of getting it fixed. Anyway, I’ll keep it till it breaks and then get a different brand when the time comes!
0530 on the dot is when I leave the house on a Thursday. I teach two Lift classes at Frame Shoreditch (645am and 730am) and I like to not have to rush. I call it groundhog Thursday cos I get the same train and see the same people on my commute!
0619 is usually when my train gets to Liverpool Street and I walk the back way to Shoreditch arriving at the studio for…
0630 in time to settle in, set up the studio and catch up with other instructors before sweating my way through the two classes. This particular Thursday was the first time I was teaching the updated choreography so needless to say the second class went better than the first. It also didn’t help that the first class was full of yogis who joined my session after their yoga teacher cancelled too late for them to not make the journey to the studio. But we made it through!
0815 finish teaching and run into the shower before the other class finishes and creates a queue. I have the second and third course of my breakfast (granola and almond milk, fruit salad) as I get dressed and then get ready.
0855 I leave the studio and head towards Liverpool Street. I dropped a friend who works there a message to see if she fancied a cuppa but she wasn’t in the office and I swung by someone else’s work to say hi but I didn’t spot him so I mooched about for a few minutes before heading over to The Altitude Centre (AC) in The City.
0935 I’m starting to feel tired so I grab myself a coconut latte from Pret before I head to The AC where I book in my PT client for later that afternoon. By the time I’ve caught up with a few people and spent some time answering emails it’s midday and I need to start making my way to Oxford Circus for my appointments. I pick up some lunch from Leon which I eat on the bus heading into the West End.
1300 I pop by Metal Morphosis in Topshop to buy a rose gold version of my septum ring but I run out of time waiting to get it changed so I head to my eyebrow appointment at the brow bar. Your eyebrows literally make the world of difference to your face eh ladies?! And I feel like a new woman when I’ve had them done!
1345 I pop back to Metal Morphosis to change my septum ring. I could do it myself but it’s the first change since I got it done and I just feel a little weirded out by the thought of it. Good job too because the guy seriously had difficulty getting the new one in and it hurt more than when I got my nose pierced. Fingers crossed if I ever do it myself it’ll be plain sailing!
1400 I have an appointment at Topshop Personal shopping with Laura to pick up a few bits for my holiday to Barbados. I never shop for “normal” clothes and I love using this (free) service as the stylists there have a real talent! You can see all the bits I tried on in the video and I’ve included all the links to what I bought below incase you like the look of something too!
1540 after trying on a ton of bits, I’ve chosen what I’m purchasing and it’s time to head home. My PT client cancelled due to being unwell so I head home via the supermarket (I’m loving the Sainsbury’s sweet potato fries) to catch up on some emails, blogging and editing the video for this post. Oh and to fall into the social media abyss (thanks Pinterest) and then eat. ‘Cos I’m starving again!
Well that was kind of a mad day! I hope it gave you a little insight into being a freelance instructor, fitness blogger and regular girl next door all at the same time…
Now to do all the work before I head off to Barbados for my much needed vacation…
So, does my life still look exciting from the outside when you see behind the scenes?! …what would your perfect day look like?!

This is super interesting because I just started my journey working for myself as a fitness professional + content creator last month. All I can say is that every day is different!
That sounds like a pretty fun kind day. I know there was quite a lot of to-ing and fro-ing but it read as a fairly light kinda day. The early start is killer though!
Those outfits are SO cute. I don't have a topshop near me anymore and I do miss it so much!
Thanks Nicci! …where are you now?! …Topshop deliver 😉 I do most of my shopping online these days!
