I tested out the latest running gear from MyProtein – the Velocity range – featuring the perfect pieces for the unpredictable Spring weather that’s fast approaching.

MyProtein are probably most widely known for their huge selection of protein powders and other protein based products. I feel like there’s nothing they don’t make… and usually, their limited edition boxes -such as their Black Friday Box – are great ways to try out their products and find one’s you like.
I got a few pieces from their newest running range – Velocity – to test out and review.
MyProtein Velocity Range
The Velocity range has definitely been made with running in mind (function) and when we go through the fit, features and fabrics, you’ll see that clearly.
Velocity Leggings
These MyProtein leggings* have quite a high shine finish, but it’s definitely perfect for wicking away sweat. It has perfectly placed mesh inserts behind the knees which at first glance, barely look different to the rest of the fabric.
There’s a wide but shallow zip pocket in the lower back area and a small pocket built into the waistband which could hold a key, but no pockets on the thighs (these are my all time favourite pockets for a phone!)

I’m 5’5″ and wearing size M. Available in black, burgundy and baby blue.
I love the added touch of reflective taping sewn into the hem of the leg (that can be turned to the outside) to aid visibility on darker days.
The waistband is thick and supportive with a drawstring to adjust for the best fit.
Velocity 1/4 Zip Running Top
For me, having a long sleeved running top is crucial. In winter it’s a mid layer but for autumn / spring it makes the perfect outer layer and this MyProtein Velocity 1/4 zip* is a great option.
It ticks all the boxes I listed in my tips on how to layer for running in colder weather. Thumbholes to keep your sleeves in place and keep the cold breeze out – check.
Sweat wicking, fast drying fabric to keep you comfortable, warm and dry – check. And like the leggings, this running top also has a mesh feature in the back to keep it breathable.
I’m wearing size S. Available in black and baby blue.
Velocity Gilet
For those in-between days – where it’s too warm to wear a jacket, but you feel like you could do with some extra warmth – it’s a gilet kinda day. I’ve got one for cycling and figured it would be worth having for running too.
The MyProtein Velocity Gilet* is also useful as it has two extra pockets (with zippers) which I can fit a phone into. The fabric is lightweight and water-repellant so you’re covered for light Spring showers.

I’m wearing size S. Available in black only and limited sizes available at time of posting.
The reflective details on the logos and shoulders are a nice touch too!
The range has something to suit every type of runner. It also includes a running jacket, sports bra, shorts, racer back vest and short sleeved t-shirt.
If you’re keen to update your running wardrobe for Spring and getting some quality pieces for a reasonable price, then keep an eye on the MyProtein site.
What are your must-have features for Spring running kit?!

I'm a big fan of the Skoop protein. It's great to bake with and drink! It's plant based which usually taste horrible, but this one is AWESOME.
Oooooo a decent tasting plant protein shake?! must check this out! thanks for the recommendation!
