Cooking. And eating. Two of my favourite past times which I got to combine at the Cooking with BRITA event. A mash up of a Chef led Thai cook out, cocktails, tea tasting and chats.
We all know it’s important to stay hydrated but how much do you think about the quality of the water you are drinking? and cooking with?
I’ve been using the BRITA Fill&Go bottle since the start of this year. It’s handy especially when all you have to get water from is a random tap somewhere. Then I caught on about cooking with filtered water – the evidence is in my mum’s kettle. Her kettle is free of limescale as she only uses filtered water in it. I can taste the difference when I have a cuppa at my mum’s.
So we donned aprons and hit the kitchen to create our very own three course thai inspired meal – all using BRITA filtered water. Our venue, L’Atelier des Chefs in St Pauls even had BRITA taps fitted that pre-filtered the water.
Our starter was Tom Yom Soup with Bok Choi and Prawns (pictured above). This was followed by a Lamb Massaman Curry (pictured below) and Banana and Coconut Pancakes (also pictured below).
Eventually, it was time to sit down and enjoy the fruits of our labour before the end of the evening.
I’m hoping to get my hands on a digital copy of the recipes so I can share with you so keep an eye out on the keep it simpElle Facebook page. I’m gonna be giving these recipes again as soon as possible – I actually didn’t eat this evening as I was on Whole30 (palm sugar was added to all of the recipes) but I took along my friend Becs from The Style Dynamo who did the taste testing on my behalf.
Do you cook with filtered water? Wanna try your hand at some thai cooking?!
Elle 🙂
SO INTERESTING!!I always have my purple pitcher in the fridge yet never thought to cook with it!
I know right! I was sold after the "tea test"…when you see the difference between a cuppa made with filtered vs regular….well!
