Way back in 2021, I decided to sign up for my first Triathlon, which was the 25th anniversary Windsor Triathlon. Now, this won’t be a big deal for most people but for me, it was a game-changer. I had to learn to swim for the event, and I’m pretty sure I was pretty new to multi-sport events.
Although it feels like lightyears away, I pretty much remember the whole journey from start to finish, like it was yesterday. So when Guni, host of Dotiv the Podcast (DTP) got in touch asking for me to be a guest and share my advice in how to best prepare for a triathlon, I jumped at the chance to reminisce.

I had recently completed the London Duathlon too, so the multi-sport mentality was actually still fresh in my mind.
Dotiv the Podcast (DTP) was created under Dotiv, a Marketplace for Complementary & Alternative Healthcare. Through open and transparent discussions, DTP’s hosts, Guni and Thasha interview healthcare specialists; unravelling all things around integrative healthcare. Their goal is to facilitate a shift in consciousness and encourage agency around individual healthcare and wellness.
In this episode, I chat with Guni about the physical training preparation for all three sports – Swimming, Cycling and Running! We cover alot, including the importance of the training mindset in this preparation phase, practicing transitions, how to map out a well-rounded training schedule, and some tools that help to keep track of progress.
In addition to that, we couldn’t not touch on the importance of building a community, and representation in the sport of Triathlon.
