When it comes to recipes, this is one of my all time favourite bacon recipes. It’s been on the blog since 2012 and I’ve been meaning to update it for months so imagine, that I’m now updating it due to unforeseen time at home.
Ironic that I have all the time in the world but it was difficult to find some ingredients but I learnt some ace substitutions as I was in a similar predicament a couple weeks ago while in Lanzarote for camp.
As long as you have some bacon, and some sort of pasta you’re good to make a very edible and tasty version of this Spaghetti with Bacon, Chilli, Feta and Basil recipe.
Here’s the image from my original 2012 post. I wanted to keep it as although the quality is poorer, the colours are more vibrant due to a full complement of fresh ingredients.
This bacon recipe is perfect for a quick dinner or lunch. It’s super simple to make big batch too and use for meal prep.

Modifications to this Bacon & Pasta Recipe
As I mentioned, if you can’t get hold of spaghetti, you can use pretty much any pasta you have available.
Whilst I was in Lanzarote, I couldn’t get hold of any fresh chillies or basil so I used ‘Cayena Guindilla’ (dried chilli cayenne peppers) and ‘Albahaca’ (dried basil) and the recipe still worked like a dream. The dried chilli was very, very potent though so don’t be too generous if you use them.
If you make in advance, or have leftovers you can just add the feta after you have heated it through fully.
