Working in fitness, I feel like I’m forever figuring out how to keep my armpits smelling fresh mostly to make it through a day without having to get changed a thousand times.
Well, a while ago I took the plunge to give Wild refillable deodorant a go after seeing non-stop ads online and reviews by influencers. Even as an influencer myself, I never know if I can trust others 100% of the time, so I tried it myself to write my own Wild natural deodorant review for you.
Now, if I’m honest, the main reason for me wanting to try Wild wasn’t because I wanna save the planet. It’s actually because I’ve been trying to switch as many natural products as I can, in order to reduce the number of endocrine disruptors I’m putting in my body, especially via skincare products.
After my hormones seemingly going a little cray the last few years, I’m down for trying anything that might support my body to function well.
So yes, Wild is an eco-friendly, au natural deodorant but for me, added together with my toothpaste, body wash, soap choices, it seems it could be a keeper.
A Bit More About Wild
Wild actually only launched into the world of personal care as a brand in 2020. While that year saw the downfall of many a brand, it probably worked out to be the perfect time with everyone at home thinking about their health and wellbeing.
The brand has gathered alot of attention since their launch and were founded with a mission to offer effective, sustainable, and natural alternatives to traditional deodorants.
One of the key distinguishing features of Wild deodorant is its commitment to using only natural ingredients. Traditional deodorants often contain harsh chemicals like aluminium salts, parabens, and synthetic fragrances, which can be irritating to the skin and potentially harmful to long-term health.
In contrast, Wild deodorants are formulated with ingredients such as coconut oil, shea butter, and essential oils, which are not only effective at combating body odour but also gentle on the skin.
In addition to the focus on natural ingredients, Wild is also dedicated to sustainability. The brand offers a refillable deodorant system, which reduces single-use plastic waste typically associated with traditional deodorant packaging. The first time you order on the Wild website, you also purchase a reusable aluminium case for your Wild refills.
While their main model is a subscription service (I’m not a fan of any subscriptions lol), you can always just buy what you want in a one-off purchase. And, of course I have a discount code for you! You can get 20% off all products on the Wild website with the code ELLE2024.
And yes, this code is valid until the end of 2025.
My Wild Deodorant Review
I probably wouldn’t be writing this review of wild deodorant if I wasn’t a fan, but I do appreciate that Wild’s deodorant probably isn’t for everyone. I promise to dish out all the juicy details from my personal experience, so you can decide if Wild Deodorant is your next ride-or-die.
What’s The Difference Between Deodorant and Anti Perspirant
Deodorant and antiperspirant are both personal care products used to combat body odour, but they work in slightly different ways.
Deodorant primarily targets the odour associated with sweating. It contains ingredients that help to neutralise or mask the odour caused by the bacteria that break down sweat on the skin’s surface. Deodorants may also contain fragrance to provide a pleasant scent.
Antiperspirant, on the other hand, is designed to reduce sweating itself. It typically contains aluminum-based compounds that temporarily block the sweat glands, thereby reducing the amount of sweat that reaches the skin’s surface.
By decreasing the amount of sweat, antiperspirants can also help minimise body odour. Some products combine both deodorant and antiperspirant properties to provide comprehensive odour and sweat protection.
When I’m working out, I sweat a lot – which is a normal process for our bodies – so I’d rather not block my sweat glands with harmful chemicals.
About Wild Packaging
Every part of Wild makes it a sustainable deodorant choice. The packaging it’s delivered in is minimal and recyclable cardboard. If you choose the mini deodorants, they are also in card. Otherwise, you have a reusable case and compostable refills with zero-waste.
Wild Refill Scents
There is always a range of scents to choose from in addition to some limited edition scents when putting together your refill pack.
Some of my favourite scents to date include Thunderstorm, Orange & Neroli, Coconut & Vanilla and Fresh Cotton & Sea Salt. I’ve got a fair few refills lined up to try so if there’s any that stand out, I will come back and update this list.
For the more sensitive armpits, you can try Wild’s sensitive range which contains zero baking soda in the deodorant formula for less irritation.
How To Get Started
As I mentioned before, your first order can either be signing up to the subscription or just a one off purchase. For the deodorant sticks, you can choose the starter kit which includes a case and 1+ refills.
You do save with a subscription (that can be cancelled anytime) but new customers can also use my code ELLE2024 for 20% off (I think it works for those who are not new customers too – you get the discount, but I don’t get affiliate revenue).
It’s worth noting that when you buy the refills of your choice, I do believe they need to be ordered in multiples of 3.
Some people do say that you go through a transition period (maybe 4-6 weeks?) when you stop using harsh products and switch to natural, and I think I would agree. There was definitely a period of time where I got a bit stinky lol but it was worth it.
I’m not a particularly sweaty person, but since I started doing more indoor cycling classes, I defo get a good sweat on. I typically don’t shower till the end of the day as I have other classes to teach and I can genuinely say that I’m not running around smelling like a sweatbox.
In terms of the dreaded white marks on clothes, I’ve had no issues. I usually apply the deodorant while my armpits are uncovered and give it a few moments to sink in.
In terms of how long a refill will last, I think the average person will use 1-2 refills per month with daily use.
Other Products From Wild
Recently, Wild have launched a few more personal care products, all sticking to the use of plant-based material. As well as their sustainable natural deodorant, they now also sell body wash and lip balm.
One of their recent launches included natural shampoo and conditioner too which is exclusively available for purchase from Tesco in-store and online. If you’re lucky, you can also catch their products on special offer.
I only wash my hair 1-2x per week and have used the Wild Shampoo and Conditioner for my most recent washes and loved it. It’s left my hair feeling soft and hydrated, my scalp feels clean and the flaky scalp I’ve been struggling with for months, is a little less severe so far.
Where Can You Buy Wild Deodorant?
You can shop all Wild products on their website but there are a few other places you can shop a range of their products – but without the discount I’ve shared below.

Now I know that when you compare Wild to average deodorant prices, it seems expensive, but personally, I feel it’s a small price to pay for something that is going on my body. I’ve already converted friends and family members by sharing great things about my experience and I hope that my honest wild deodorant review has answered any questions you may have!
Got any other natural product recommendations to share?!
